Jasmin Addison who was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Sydney started dancing at a very early age with Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She continued to dance until her mid teen years slowly but surely picking up ability and confidence and with her commencement of rhythmic gymnastics also gained strength and coordination. Jasmin’s love of music moved her from dancing to singing, which she discovered she had a strong talent for and for about 5 years trained as a classical singer. In 2003 Jasmin was introduced to Ceroc (a mixture of Rock and Roll and Latin) and with it, rediscovered her love of dance. Ceroc started a passion for partner dancing and it wasn’t long after this that she started dancing Salsa. |
Around the same time Jasmin with her partner Ulysses Maclaren entered their first competition The Australian Salsa Classic and were accepted into Modus Vivendi Project performance team.
Since then Jasmin has been lucky enough to have performed all over Sydney, Brisbane, Byron bay, Canberra, Melbourne, The Sydney Salsa Congress 07,08 and 09, The Sydney Bachata Festival 08 and 09, and her favourite, The Malaysian Salsa Festival 07, 08. Her highlight to date was making her international solo debut with partner Ulysses Maclaren in the Malaysian Salsa Festival 2008. Jasmin with Ulysses attended both the Malaysian and Vietnam Salsa Festivals to perform and teach in 2009.
As well as their team training, Jasmin still trains solo with Ulysses and has competed in the NSW titles qualifying for the Australian Salsa Classic were she and her partner Ulysses won the second place title in the On1 professional couples division as well as third place in the teams division.
Jasmin is currently still training with the Modus Vivendi Project and is the very proud team leader with Ulysses Maclaren.
